Small on purpose.

Versatile, smart, driven and talented. That about sums us up.

Big M

Masuga Design started in 2003 by Ryan Masuga as a freelance endeavor, becoming an LLC in 2006. Jacob Russell joined in 2009 as lead front-end developer and for ExpressionEngine and project management support. Ben Kohl came on board in 2011.

We spend much of our time developing and maintaining devot-ee.com, and keep client work at very reasonable levels…allowing us to do our best work for clients who are the best fit.

We believe in what we do and are passionate about providing you with the best possible ExpressionEngine-based solutions. If areas of a project fall outside our strong in-house skill sets, we readily partner with talented designers and developers to complete those requirements.

Keeping things small minimizes project management time, maximizes time spent working, and eliminates the overhead inherent in working with a larger studio.

At your service.

Your main points of contact when working with us. Two experienced ExpressionEngine developers. We don't bite.

Ryan Masuga

Principal

My formal education is in fine art. Everything I know about web development is through countless hours of experimentation and a desire to solve problems. I'm meticulous and obsessed with the details - and that's reflected in Masuga Design's work.

When Ben is not making beer, drinking beer, or engaged in attending a sporting event, he makes amazing things every day with his very detail-oriented coding.

Kind words.

Thank you! We work very hard and appreciate you taking time out of your busy schedule to say something about us.

I have found that the website has been a remarkable tool for establishing credibility in my markets as well as an effective tool to driving sales. I highly recommend Masuga Design and Ryan Masuga to develop outstanding website to promote your business and drive sales

Tucker Sweitzer, Owner, Chrysalis Designs

Some people are good graphic designers, and some people are web technicians. Ryan excels in both worlds. He has formal education as a fine artist, and it shows in the graphic sensibility of his web sites. Too bad there’s only one him - if you hire him once, you will be standing in line to hire him again and again.

Dave Burgess, Principal, Great Lakes Scrip Center

Ryan is one of those people that is so passionate about what they do, that it’s borderline obsession. He is easy to work with and will stop at nothing to solve a problem.

Jason Clewell, Art Director/Web Developer, Concentric Marketing

Ryan was hired by our company to manage web development efforts for a high-profile client. He is reliable, flexible, an expert in his field, and most importantly he is a pleasure to work with. Ryan always managed to accommodate our most challenging requests. I highly recommend Masuga Design for any of your web development projects!

Katie Vinson, Interactive Project Manager, GSI Commerce

Throughout the entire process, I remained incredibly impressed at his obvious expertise in ExpressionEngine and his ability to logically and creatively implement the multitude of features we were building into the site. During the development phase Ryan repeatedly proved himself to be one of the most reliable and conscientious developers I’ve ever dealt with. Ryan proved to have a great deal of integrity, was incredibly reliable and always a pleasure to work with.
